The Bedford County Public Service Authority will be accepting bids for one new extended cab 4 X 4  pick-up truck until January 11, 2008, 2:00 pm Eastern Time.  Bid specifications are available for download at www.bcpsa.com, or they can be viewed at the Bedford County PSA office located at 1723 Falling Creek Road in Bedford, Va.  Please direct any questions to Mike Witt at 540-586-7679 ext. 122. 

Specifications

2008 4X4 Extended Cab Pickup

Body Type:................. Full size- two door minimum, extended cab, double wall, straight side body, and rear step bumper.

GVWR:....................... 6300 lb. rating or greater

Wheelbase:................ Long wheel base-143 inch minimum

Tires:.......................... Full size spare tire and rim, with jack and lug wrench to be furnished and mounted to the vehicle. Tires are to be all terrain radials.

Towing:...................... Frame mounted 2” receiver equipped with a 7 pin plug.  Electronic factory towing brake controller installed.

Miscellaneous:........... To have vinyl seats, vinyl floor mats are to be provided. Vehicle shall be equipped with tinted windows, power door locks, power windows; a factory installed air conditioning, and AM/FM stereo at (minimum). All other equipment is to be standard.

Vehicle to be furnished shall conform to all applicable Federal and Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and all equipment shall conform to Title 46.2, Chapter 10 of the Code of Virginia and shall include a valid Virginia State Inspection Sticker and 30 day tags.

Vehicle shall be new, and shall include a minimum factory bumper to bumper and power train warrantee of 3 years / 36,000 miles.

Vehicle service preparation must be performed by dealer prior to delivery.

EVALUATION OF BIDS AND CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Delivery must be made within 90 days after bid acceptance.

Bids will be accepted at the PSA office until 2:00 PM on January 11, 2008.  The PSA office is located at 1723 Falling Creek Road in Bedford, Virginia.

Bids may be accepted or rejected based on test drive and inspection of vehicle. The Bedford County PSA reserves the right reject all bids that do not meet the desired specifications.
