Invitation to Bid

 August 9, 2007

  The Bedford County Public Service Authority will be accepting bids for one new Right Hand Drive (RHD) 2008 Jeep Wrangler X 4x4. Bids will be accepted until August 24, 2007, 2:00 pm Eastern Time. Bid specifications are available for download at www.bcpsa.com , or they can be viewed at the Bedford County PSA office located at 1723 Falling Creek Road in Bedford, Va. 2008 Right Hand Drive Jeep Wrangler 4X4

Body Type ------------- Right Hand Drive, Sport Utility, 3 piece modular and removable hardtop, full metal doors with manual (roll up) windows

 Engine------------------- 3.8 Liter V6 engine

 Transmission---------- Automatic  

Towing------------------- Class 3 factory installed, frame mounted 2” receiver equipped with a 7 pin plug. Electronic factory installed electronic brake controls.

 Drive Train-------------- 4 Wheel Drive 

Brakes------------------- Power, 4 wheel disc brakes

Tires--------------------- P225/75R16 on/off road tires, vehicle to be equipped with a full sized spare tire and rim, with jack and lug wrench mounted to the vehicle.

Steering----------------- Power steering

Suspension------------- Traction control, electronic stability program, and factory installed transfer skid plate

 Color--------------------- White (preferred) 

Miscellaneous---------- Vehicle is to be equipped with factory installed air conditioner, AM/FM stereo (at minimum), full sized vinyl floor mats, and a tilt steering wheel. All other equipment is to be standard. 

Vehicle to be furnished shall conform to all applicable Federal and Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and all equipment shall conform to Title 46.2, Chapter 10 of the Code of Virginia and shall include a valid Virginia State Inspection Sticker and 30 day tags.   

Vehicle shall be new and shall include a minimum bumper to bumper, power train warranty of 3 years / 36,000 miles. Vehicle service preparation shall be prepared by the dealer prior to delivery.

 Evaluation of Bids and Criteria for Selection 

Delivery must be made within 90 days after bid acceptance; exceptions that may apply include direct delivery from factory to dealer, and the availability of the vehicle. Vehicles delivered prior to the 90 day period will not receive payment until October 1, 2008.  

Bids will be accepted at the PSA office until 2:00pm EST until August 24, 2007. The PSA Office is located at 1723 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, Virginia.  

Bids may be accepted or rejected based on test drive, inspection of the vehicle, and dealer adherence to vehicle specifications.
